A word from our Executive Director

Working with HakiElimu continues to be an interesting and challenging experience. Its  culture, values and the approach make HakiElimu a unique organization. Inspired by our mission and vision, we fight for and strongly support others who believe that basic education is a fundamental right of all people: girls and boys, women and men.

The power of citizen agency cannot be ignored in the efforts to improve education. Holding the government accountable for its actions is an enormous task that needs the joint efforts of various stakeholders and partners. On the other hand, citizens should ensure that they play their part to ensure our children are provided with quality education that will liberate them from poverty; and all other forms of oppression.

Discussion and imaginative debates on topical issues aired out by ordinary citizens will be heard and will surely make an endless echo in the ears of our leaders.

Our work is to inform the citizens, work with them to ensure that they are using the opportunities to express their views and taking actions to bring changes in the society and making a difference in their own communities
